Guide Dogs For The Blind
This fabulous organization is located in San Rafael. During the week you can see trainers and students working with the guide dogs in the downtown area. It costs over $60,000 to train a guide dog! GDB identifies eligible students and brings them to the San Rafael campus for a month of free training. If they complete the course successfully, they go home with their guide dog and it costs them nothing. Graduation ceremonies are open to the public and are a once a month event, with the exception of January. Check the website for details. This organization deserves your support. It will put your dollars to good use. |
